A healthy or concerned lifestyle

‘Gay men and woman with little children’. Was the answer of the seller from the organic shop when I asked him what people visit his shop. It is a kind of society of people who come to these shops and have a lifestyle in which they eat mostly organic products and care about themselves and the environment. The woman buys lot of these products, especially for their young children. Something that confirms an earlier conversation I had with a woman who was buying organic apples for her little boy.

Today we visited two different kinds of initiatives selling fresh food. The first was this organic shop. By asking for the concept of the shop he told us they focus on people who will buy their daily products in these shops. These are mostly the people whit a concerned lifestyle. The other initiative we visit was the ‘Garden State Juice Bar & Deli’. In this bar you can have breakfast, lunch or drink some of the delicious smoothies. The boy told us that they want to offer people healthy food. These bars are the more popular initiatives and focused on people who just want to eat healthy, but won’t adapt their whole lifestyle.

Two different initiatives, but their popularity is rising under a big part of the population. And what is really the focus, if it is to be concerned or to promote a healthy lifestyle, it doesn’t matter anymore. As both stimulate to be aware of the food we eat!
