You can’t escape from food in your daily life. Transparency about food is very important I learned today. First we went to the other side of the town, passed the bridge named Paul Bocuse and came at the restaurant ‘Auberge du Pont du Collonges’ of the famous Paul Bocuse to actually meet him. Unfortunately he couldn’t be there anymore, which was a bit disappointing. But the tour we get was really impressive (read more about it at: itslisaboerop.waarbenjij.nu). The chef told us that Paul Bocuse strives to transparency of the kitchen and stimulating contact between the cooks and the visitors. With having an open kitchen he creates a pleasant atmosphere where you feel involved as visitor. It is this concept of the open kitchen that made Paul Bocuse so successful.
After visiting the restaurant, we went to the market to buy ingredients for preparing meal. Also now transparency again seems very important. I am a vegetarian and won’t eat meat or fish. Lisa is allergic to milk and won’t eat cheese or other products with lactose. It makes us realize that knowing the ingredients of the food you eat is very important. Again transparency about the food is necessary.
It is good to be involved by what you eat and know how it is prepared. It doesn’t matter if it is in a restaurant or if it is at home. If it is because you are interested or if it is because of allergic or principal reasons. These are just two examples of transparency and food. Another point where transparency is needed is in agriculture. Tomorrow I’ll tell you all about why this is so important. For now I’ll just conclude that as long as food plays such an important role in our lives, transparency about it is needed.
