Wer will dass die welt so bleibt

Walking through the East Side Gallery of Berlin made me realize who recently the history of the wall is. Thinking about the freedom we feel in the world we live, thinking about the opportunities we have in our world, thinking about the world we see. A better world than we had in the times of the Cold War.

But the world we see is it really a better world? The reaction that is posted in my former blog support this: ‘Buying in supermarkets instead of in organic food shops, is of course good. On the other hand it leads to large scale business where profit, production and consumption are the main goals…’ We don’t live in the world of what we see first, it is about what is behind the signs. First I was happy to see all these organic products, but after asking the manager if he would also be a manager of the Lidl with less organic products if he had the opportunity, he didn’t say no. Too bad.

We don’t live in the world that Adam Smith mentioned it would be. We don’t live in the world where the ideology of Karl Marx is the best. We live in a world where every activity is complex. We live in a world we would like to see. But if we really want to live in the world we see, than we have to change. This is what the words of the sentence found on the art on the Wall of Berlin in the East Sade Gallery let me notice: ‘Wer will dass die welt so bleibt wie sie ist der will nicht dass sie bleibt’. This sentence clearly shows the movement that lives under the residents of Berlin. The movement that wants the world to remain as it is and see themselves responsible for it, but than they have to change their lifestyle. And that is just what I saw today in Berlin. As I thought that there was a big offer in organic products in Munich, I didn’t know yet of Berlin. In almost every café I found organic food and organic drinks and never saw so much organic shops full with customers before.
